Alpendorf (St. Johann/ Pg.) - Wagrain

Return to the list
Elevation: 650 - 2014 m; Pistes: 60 km
St. Johann - Alpendorf is located about 55 km south of the festival city of Salzburg and is generally considered the main town of the region. Directly from the center the lifts "Hahnbaum" lead onto the famous ski mountain (1.200 m) of the St. Johanner. The compact "house ski resort" is a recommendable, familiy-friendly alternative to the huge "Ski amadé", which you can enter from Alpendorf. Alpendorf is situated about 3 km away from the center and is a largely independent "holiday island". From here highly modern cable cars and chairlifts lead directly into Austria's largest ski resort. With its about 10.700 inhabitants St. Johann is a lively town all year round. (source:  www.bergfex.com)

Bad Hofgastein - Bad Gastein - Sportgastein

Return to the list
Elevation: 859 - 2685 m; Pistes: 130 km
The level of your skiing ability and weather conditions should help you decide in which skiing area in Gastein to leave your tracks in the snow. Schlossalm - Angertal – Stubnerkogel (859 - 2.300 m Altitude): Largest connected skiing area. Downhill runs with over l, 000m difference in altitude promise varied piste fun – perfectly connected with modern lifts and cable cars. We would recommend the Judau lift in the skiing centre in the Angertal Valley for beginners. The Hohe Scharte Nord with a length of 8 km is one of the longest downhill runs in the Eastern Alps. Sportgastein (1.590 - 2.685 m Altitude): Highest situated skiing area. Sportgastein is the village, where sporty types feel at home. After a thousand metres of skiing in deep powder snow or the dream of mogul pistes you will land at the valley station of the Goldbergbahn. Graukogel (1.079 - 2.007 m Altitude): The Graukogel is a challenge for top skiers with its long difficult downhill runs. The only drawback: there is no lift connection to the other skiing areas.

Zauchensee - Flachauwinkl - Kleinarl

Return to the list
Elevation: 1000 - 2188 m; Pistes: 80 km
This ski area is in the middle of the Amadé sports world. Or, to be precise, in the heart of the sports world of Salzburg: in Zauchensee/ Flachauwinkl/ Kleinarl. Our ski region is magnificent – Zauchensee is the highest ski region in the Salzburg sports world. There is a reason why we are known as the snow trap for miles around. We quite often have two metres of snow in the mountains well into the spring. Although we have 50 snow guns always ready to fire, we only use them for decorative purposes, to keep our pistes nice and powdery. Our Zauchensee/ Flachauwinkl / Kleinarl region alone has 80 kilometres of pistes. And there is a piste for everybody: from the "blue" gliding piste to the "black" steep escarpement, from the family run to the high speed piste. And a few more figures: the 15 lifts at Zauchensee/ Flachenwinkel/ Kleinarl have a transport capacity of 22 292 persons per hour.
